Passage Bornova

  • Location : Bornova, İzmir
  • Year : 2014
  • Status : Completed
  • Total Area : 15.000 m2

The project is situated in Bornova, one of the central and business provinces of İzmir. The area is very close to Yasar University that is one of the popular university in Izmir and also a public hospital. This mixed-use project consists of 1+0, 1+1, 2+1 and loft apartments and shopping mall in the entrance floor. Those loft apartments are very suitable for the students that are living around the campus area. This project being developed deals with contradictions such as public and private, social and distinguished considerations. In the middle of the complex, starting from one side through the end of the complex an open street is created. Thus, students and people use this complex to reach the campus and hospital by passing this street and seeing the shops located around them. Apartments are in the private zone with a different private entrance in another level but also surrounded by the alternative public space and meeting points. An architectural approach is readable that derives its power from creating public zone motivations.
